Kakheti and Kartli was under the attack from every side. there is Historical records about his 65 battles (only 3 defeats), but small battles were not described by his historians, as it was just a daily practice. This king personally have more battles faught, than some nations in their whole History. Europeans called him "Napoleon of the East", Frederick II the Great (1712-1786) said: "I am Great in the West and Prince Erekle, the King of the Georgians - in the East." Muslims themselves called him "The Unchained Lion".
